About Betül K. Yıldız
It’s very hard to write “about” pages sometimes. Some people simply love writing, like me. I’ve always loved writing since very young ages. I started blogging for the first time by writing small short stories back in 2005. I’ve started writing back in 2009 about marketing and business after I graduated from “Business School“. That is the same year that I learned about social media and got my first job as a social media executive for brands like Ford Turkey, Fiat Turkey and so many others. I landed to my first influencer job in “Nesfit14-Day Diet with 14 Bloggers” campaign in 2011. I moved to NY in 2011 fall. Hustling in NY made me forget about blogging for 2 years.
And now, I’m back to the blogging world at the beginning of 2014. I’ve started writing in English this time. After one year of blogging, I got my first recognition by Clergerie X ManRepeller for the #clergeriegirl contest. I was one of the four finalists for the USA, proudly represent New York. I still live in New York and the voice of Newest Yorkers and have my twin girls 2017 September. Having babies makes me more powerful than ever. I am those lucky mothers who can work from home and can be with the kids all the time. Full time blogging now and finally can say my passion become my job at the end.

Alley Girl name actually comes from New York City technology hub called Silicon Alley.
Why Technology?
After I moved to Manhattan I found a new job in the Flatiron District. I was working on my computer one day, I turned my head to the back and saw that triangle building. Which building was that? It was Flatiron Building and the neighbourhood gets its name from that unique building. They call the area “Flatiron District” and we digital people call the area “Silicon Alley“. You muggles may not know about this fact but here is an explanation about it.
Silicon Alley, centered in Manhattan, has evolved into a metonym for the sphere encompassing the New York City metropolitan region’s high tech industries including, the Internet, new media, telecommunications, digital media, software development, biotechnology, game design, financial technology (fin-tech), and other fields within information technology that are supported by the area’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and venture capital investments.(source: Wikipedia)
Finally, I found that I should start to write about my real passions. This is what I do: marketing, digital media, e-commerce, start-ups, social media whatever is related to internet business. My name should be alley girl. Because I am the girl from alley who loves fashion, writing about the city and her life in it; likes to meet new people; talks too much about internet technologies and loves to share her passion.
This is why I am the alley girl, this is why It’s technology.
