Black Color Means…

I might think black color is the strongest of all. This is nothing to do with Henry Ford’s famous quote. (Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black) This wise man’s problem might have totally different story ( some may say he was obsessed to reduce costs and black was the cheapest color in his time.)

According to http://www.color-wheel-pro.com/ This color is;

associated with power, elegance, formality, death, evil, and mystery.

Black is a mysterious color associated with fear and the unknown (black holes). It usually has a negative connotation (blacklist, black humor, ‘black death’). Black denotes strength and authority; it is considered to be a very formal, elegant, and prestigious color (black tie, black Mercedes). In heraldry, black is the symbol of grief.

Black gives the feeling of perspective and depth, but a black background diminishes readability. A black suit or dress can make you look thinner. When designing for a gallery of art or photography, you can use a black or gray background to make the other colors stand out. Black contrasts well with bright colors. Combined with red or orange – other very powerful colors – black gives a very aggressive color scheme.

I must say that I am much more into Color-wheel-pro’s explanation than Mr. Ford’s. We love black because we are human-beings who love being in authority and control and even maybe intriguing the others. And who doesn’t love mysterious things? Perhaps the reason is hunger of learning.

In psychology “Black” also means power and control. Black is actually intimidating, unfriendly and unapproachable because of the power it exudes. I think this is the reason most of the biggest and most valuable fashion houses use this color in their branding (logo) like Chanel, Saint Laurent, Prada, Fendi, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana and so on. Think about it when you seek a reasonably cheap Prada Mary Jane extended toe pumps on Ebay, the control is not in your hands anymore. Your soul definitely belongs to that black colored label called “Prada”

At the end didn’t evil wear “PRADA” (they might have really close relationship.)

To sum up I want to share you my latest All Black Look!
