Paris Fashion Week: Chanel Fall 2019 Collection Review

Saying farewell to Karl Lagerfeld is not easy, but he has left behind much to appreciate with his final presentation. The noted creative director brought Chanel to the peak of high fashion, establishing the house as a marvel in haute couture. Due to his efforts, luxury is synonymous with the Chanel brand. Time after time, he has blessed the runway with opulence. In this Paris Fashion Week: Chanel Fall 2019 Collection review, you’ll see that Lagerfeld strived until the very end to cement his legacy of beauty.

Our Favourite Looks

Cara Delevingne opens the show with a solemn energy expected from a model close to Karl. The gingham coat shifts with her every step and highlights the contrasting pattern of the jumpsuit. Pearls, clear beads, and metal chains link with the largest pendants resembling ice cubes.

A finely knit cardigan with embellished buttons fits snugly into the fluffy skirt, the waistline defined by a signature Chanel belt. This whole ensemble appears downy and soft to the touch. Hints of black, turquoise and light brown punctuate the neutrality of the colors on display.

This entire look is the epitome of cute and cozy, from the cropped teddy cardigan to the shiny, wide leg trousers. Despite textural differences the bedazzled bodysuit slips seamlessly into the high waisted pants.

A monochromatic hot pink look in the dead of the fall/ winter season is justified when the composition is this good. Chanel is so capable of expressing over-the-top femininity in the heart drop earrings and the bundle of crossbody purses without coming across garish or contrived.

Small figurines ski on an ensemble that looks as if it could be worn to the slopes. This jumpsuit fits the form perfectly and the ethereal, ruffled detailing is anchored by a pair of Chanel broaches. My favourite accessory is the fuzzy turquoise clutch.

Kaia Gerber, daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford, struts confidently in this babydoll dress. Simple in construction, intricacies lie in the reflective snowflakes on the bodice and the lacing of the wedged shoes.
