The Dion Lee F/W 2020 Show Literally Featured A Model Named Fashion

The model who closed out the Dion Lee F/W 2020 show is named Fashion and I’m deeply amused by the entire concept. Like, a fashion model named Fashion? I guess she is destined for the runway. Honestly, after the incident with Gigi Hadid last spring nothing surprises me at Fashion Week anymore. Well, aside from the clothes! Okay, so, maybe I’ve seen The Craft way too many times, but I stan the gothic schoolgirl vibe this look possesses. The gathered hooded blouse and the pleated mini skirt are a match made in heaven with those clunky, folded-over boots.

Off the shoulder fur jacket? Check. Corset crop top? Check. Edgy, tomboy swag? Check. I need this whole look packaged up and sent to Rihanna quick, fast, and in a hurry. I just know she would kill it. That’s all I have to say.

This high neck Dion Lee dress incorporates a slashed, but snatched silhouette, much like Proenza Schouler’s pieces. I anticipate seeing this dusky gray color to start appearing more frequently in both runway and retail fashion.

Can we just take a moment to both realize and appreciate that the skirt’s drawstring is being worn around the model’s neck? Okay… now that we’re past that, I enjoy this look for what it is – attainable. You could easily recreate this look with a cut out bardot top, a high waisted ruched skirt, and small oval sunglasses.

Fun fact: The model in this photo was also in the Area Fall/Winter 2020 show. As you can tell by now, Dion Lee’s monochromatic styling stole my heart. This last chic, co-ord is no exception. I like that the skirt relaxes across the hips while the top ruches at the ribs.
