Blazer Over A Dress for Professional Look

A blazer over a dress professional looks is a very stylish option but at the same time gives you a successful first impression if you aim to impress in your next interview. I know I know of course you want to impress 🙂

When I wear this look, my intentions were very different. I was trying to catch up the only fashion show I wanted to attend. I got so many invites this year not only the shows and also backstage like Jason Wu, Cushnie Et Ochs, MONSE, Jason Wu Grey, Alice + Olivia, Naeem Khan, Public School and Self Portrait, thanks to Maybelline.

Since I just gave a birth to two beautiful princesses I couldn’t attend any of them. Because my babies need me more than I need fashion shows. Sad but so true.

I decided to attend Hakan Akkaya‘s show. This show was important for me because he is from my home country. He is one of the most famous and talented fashion designers in Turkey. His last two shows were in New York in last two seasons. He had a very successful show last season with a grunge twist.

Blazer: Forever 21 (old season) similar in burgundy (perfect colour for fall)
Dress: Moon River Collection
Shoes: Zara (old season)
Bag:
Sunglasses: Miu Miu (It’s $79 in Century 21 Stores)
Stack Rings: Lesebi

I love his designs. Because I think his thinking way is not limited to only one sex but represents both female and male spirits. So it was important for me to attend this show but unfortunately, I missed the show.

When you become a mom you kind of lost the track of your time management. I meant It takes time to adjust this new life. And it is very hard with two babies. I styled myself in very last minute. I did my signature plain looking makeup as always but the time was off.

When I checked my phone I had only 30 min to catch the show and I was still at home in Greenpoint. There was no way to catch the show on the west side of Manhattan. So I convinced Fatih to take my photos for my blog. And I think this look is the best look to show blazer over dress professional purposes.

I’ve been thinking recently how important your style when you do an interview. It is important because you give a glimpse of your personality to your interviewer. Being socially fitted to a company is sometimes more important than your professional skills. Because you can learn what you do on the road but being socially fitted is not an easy thing to fix because It’s about your character.

If you want to show you care about the people you meet with for a job but wanna show your colourful personality this look is perfect. But make sure that the company you apply to work with has a colourful personality, too. Or check the person you are gonna interview with on the internet upfront. You may think It is not the best option for a very serious job but that company may try to find a new soul to their organizational culture. Or the position they have is very different than the general culture that they have in the company.
