Proenza Schouler NYFW Spring 2020 Review

This year at NYFW, Proenza Schouler released a collection of elevated business attire that you’ve probably only dreamed about wearing to the office. Designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have an incredible eye for detail that is proven with every look that comes down the runway. I love the dual fabric and how the broad shouldered silhouette is broken up by the belt cinched high above the waist. The embossed fasteners are an elegant touch that allows you to button this garment how you please. Slicked back hair and gray eye shadow add to the dexterity of this look.

This second look is just so interesting to look at. There’s so many layers, shapes, and fabrics to dissect yet they all accentuate the other. My favorite detail, aside from the stunning square-toed shoes, is the black and white patterned shawl.

Out of the entire Proenza Schouler NYFW Spring 2020 collection, this look, in my opinion, is THE ONE. I literally wish I could pluck it off the runway and put it right into my closet — glasses included. The entire look just radiates refinement and sophistication. If another Matrix movie is made, they need this ensemble on the badass female lead.

An off the shoulder, high neck halter top is not usually what you would envision in your business casual arsenal, but this garment just works so well. I love how they combined such statement-making pieces together in this look with the addition of the shimmery black skirt and chunky gold necklace.
